David Roberts & Partners (York) Ltd directors Jason Lauchlan and Mark Elvin have more than half a century of experience between them. They have worked for some of the biggest insurance firms in the world and delivered every conceivable type of business cover.

They set up their own brokerage with Kathryn Hill in 2019 because they wanted to buck the mainstream industry trend towards large, faceless brokerages built on computerised processes with limited product access and a depersonalised service characterised by faceless call centres.

By contrast, we believe in doing things differently with our friendly, highly trained team making sure you remain fully protected, who will deal efficiently with the unforeseen should it arise.

As business owners themselves, Jason and Mark understand the pressures that go with running your own company, which is why they are so committed to doing everything in their power to remove as much stress as possible from your shoulders and let you get on with the job of running things.

And because we understand that insurance is ultimately about protecting the things people care about, we don’t offer box-ticking, automated solutions. Our recommendations are based on thorough, in-person reviews of a business’ requirements, and our company is founded on building positive, long-term relationships with our clients.

Jason Lauchlan - Managing Director

Mark Elvin - Director

With almost 40 years’ experience working with some of the world’s biggest insurers, there isn’t much Mark hasn’t seen. He brings this weight of knowledge to every client’s unique circumstances and is passionate about protecting their interests through the best quality, independent insurance products.

“I joined forces with my fellow director Jason to establish a brokerage committed to doing things differently, based on many years of direct experience of things that weren’t always as good as they should be,” he said.
