Sourcing the best and most comprehensive cover for your business
Having no or inadequate cover for key risks can bring a business down, yet too many companies see it as a necessary evil, a pointless expense, or just don’t take it seriously enough and so don’t realise the potential timebomb they are sitting on.
Not having cover for things like industrial accidents, the death of people who are key to keeping the company ticking, flood, fire, theft, contractual or legal claims, and supplier failures, could each result in losses totalling tens of thousands of pounds, or even millions, and result in the worst case scenario of complete business failure.
Even for businesses that do understand the importance of insurance cover, not having the right expertise to appreciate the small print can lead to loopholes that cost them dearly when the unforeseen happens.
Things like flood risk or subsidence exclusions or large excesses can mean the policy they are paying for really isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. And making sure premises, equipment and people within a business are adequately protected is a moral responsibility too for any reputable company.

Hi there! Have some questions about our company? Find the answers below.
We support organisations large and small in a range of different sectors across the whole of the UK and beyond. Because we have the backing of the broader DR&P Group, we can arrange insurance cover abroad as well if required. We are also very happy to work with international companies that have bases outside the UK.
Our business is owned and run independently by co-directors Jason Lauchlan and Mark Elvin, and we have access to every insurance product available on the market, using these to build bespoke packages tailored to the unique needs of every business.
At the same time, we benefit from the financial backing of DR&P Group. This means our clients can rest assured that we are financially strong enough to look after their needs in the long term, as well as giving us the ability to access additional, specialist advice where needed and offer products and services further afield.
With no ties or responsibilities to individual insurance companies, we guarantee to recommend only those policies and providers that are genuinely right for you. And because we have so much experience dealing with companies across different industries, we can apply that wealth of knowledge to your situation, too.
Our co-directors Jason Lauchlan and Mark Elvin have half a century of experience in the insurance industry and the combined team of over a century. They have worked for some of the biggest insurance firms in the world and have dealt with every conceivable complexity involving business cover during that time.
They are supported by a highly trained team of account executives and account and claim handlers who each reflect the DR&P York, ethos of keeping our clients front and centre and going out of their way to look after their every need.
At the same time, because we have the backing of DR&P Group we have the ability to call on any additional, specialist advice needed, including covering business operations and assets worldwide for businesses that operate globally.
In the majority of cases, our reviews do result in cost savings for our clients.
However, that’s not our main focus. Because we know that having the wrong or inadequate insurance cover can be the thing which can break any business if the unanticipated happens, our priority is making sure that you have the right, most comprehensive package available.
Scrimping on insurance protection is a false economy and a dangerous move for any business. We have worked in the industry long enough to understand what can and does go wrong, and the many thousands or even millions of pounds it can cost to put that right.
When we carry out independent reviews of companies’ operations and insurance cover we usually discover things that are inadequately covered, risks they are unaware of and policies that are not fit for purpose. Many businesses don’t read past the main policy schedule to understand the exclusions and endorsements that would significantly reduce the benefits of their cover if something were to happen, for example. By plugging those gaps, we give business owners complete peace of mind, so that they can sleep at night knowing their company and its employees are protected no matter what.
Once companies decide to join us, we make the process of insuring with or moving to us as seamless as possible – all we require is an authorising signature and we can take care of the rest.
And once you’ve joined us, we don’t leave you hanging. You will be allocated a dedicated team who will remain on hand to look after you, answer any questions, update your policies to reflect any changes taking place within your business and, once a year, review your cover to make sure it continues to meet your needs.
The time when insurance matters most is when the unforeseen happens and you need to call on your cover. For this, we have our own, UK-based, in-house claims-handling team. If something goes wrong, just call us, explain the situation and we will take it from there, liaising with insurers on your behalf.

Not long at all. Once you are happy with our proposed plan, all you need to do is sign our paperwork and we will take care of everything else, setting up all your required cover as quickly and seamlessly as we can. Typically, we can have everything in place almost immediately.
We offer a range of insurances businesses typically need, from business continuity to fire, theft and flood, and cyber risk cover. Some insurances such as employers' liability, motor insurance, and inspection are compulsory. We always conduct a detailed business review before recommending a package of cover options and will never put forward anything we don’t genuinely believe you need, based on our decades of experience of the things that can and do go wrong.
Sadly, insurance is one of those purchases in life where the value is best understood by people who’ve been unfortunate enough to have to claim.
The reality is that, every year, we handle claims running into tens of thousands, or even millions of pounds. Could you really cover that sort of sum by setting aside a bit of money? If the answer is no, then there really is no alternative to making sure you are adequately insured.
And it’s not just about covering your premises, operations and assets so that you can sleep at night – making sure your people are protected in the event of an accident or other issue is the right thing to do as a reputable employer.
Also, our insurance audits usually result in us offering wider advice about any wider business risks that could be improved to mitigate the amount of risk you are carrying. We can also recommend people to help you sort such things out, from our network of trusted associates.
